The house is beautiful with 5 rooms well distributed! Great location, close to everything, with great views of The island and other landmarks! The house keeper Nena is such a sweet heart and excellent chef that will make you feel at home from the first minute! We will come back next year!
Pond Cay is as amazing as it looks. It's not often that you get to have a tropical island all to yourself. Our group of eight found the home more than large enough so that everyone had their space but also had great gathering areas where we could spend time as a group. The home is better equipped than most I have stayed at with multiple kitchen tools and appliances that all worked well. The Island is perfect, tropical palm trees and surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. Its a short walk to the other side of the island where you can find a small beach area. Finally the sea life around the island is amazing, our whole group really enjoyed watching all of the fish and rays. I would also recommend Alexander the boat guide as he took us all around the island of Guanaja, hiking and snorkeling. Pond Cay is a truly unique and beautiful experience that I can highly recommend.
Words really can’t describe how amazing Kristopher and Kenia’s island home is. From every place on the island and in the home you will be surrounded by beautiful landscapes, the ocean, the bay area and of course the incredible fish keep with its very own sea turtle! Kenia assisted us with everything we could want: amazing food prepared by the live in hostess/chef to transportation anywhere on the island via Alex to guided fishing expeditions with Peter! All of our experiences are memories that will last a lifetime! I cannot recommend this destination enough, I plan on returning many times to come!! Thank you!!!
We were a medical volunteer group of nine who stayed at the house for one week. This is my fifth trip to Guanaja. The house was excellent for our large group. The bedrooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Cynthia was the housekeeper and was available whenever we needed her. Nena was an excellent cook and made wonderful, fresh, and tasty meals. Fresh coffee was made whenever we needed it. They shopped for us before we arrived. We had lots of snacks at the house. We were able to eat dinner together, which was fun. We swam and kayaked in the evenings after we worked in the clinic. Loved everything about the stay. I highly recommend it. Alexander was available to boat us places as needed. He is super timely and a great driver.
This trip was beyond words. Pond Cay is a private Cay just off the main island of Guanaja. You access the Cay via boat taxi, which they help you arrange. The Taxi is also available to take you on excursions or anywhere on the island you want to check out. They offer a service to have groceries picked up and ready for you. When we arrived, we were surprised to learn we had a house keeper and cook as part of our stay. She had fresh baked bread and coffee ready each morning along with our preference on breakfast. If you have never been to Guanaja, most everything is via small boat. It's remote and incredible beautiful. It can have occasional sand flies and mosquitos, however Pond Cay is off the main island and had none our entire stay which was a blessing. The owners stay in constant contact for anything you may need and all we ever had to do was send a message if we needed something. The snorkeling is the best we have ever had, it's set right on the reef. At night we saw leopard rays, puffer fish and octopus everywhere. The rooms have cold AC, which in the islands isn't always a given. Pond Cay runs on solar and when the sun isn't out it has a backup generator. We have for Conch Festival which is in July every year and my 2 young kids. They cried and didn't want to leave, it was so hard to say goodbye. The experience was simply spectacular. We will be back!
